Al-Hassan said on Saturday during the afforestation campaign launched by UN-Habitat in the presence of a large crowd of heads of diplomatic missions in the country that the campaign aims to green areas to resist the impact of global climate change, resist desertification and reduce the severity of climate change represented by high temperature and lack of rain. She pointed out that the trees that will be planted are all desert resistant to heat and water shortages and help improve the general health of the population as an important element in the cycle of nature, as well as the participation of more than 50 ambassadors contribute to raising awareness about the importance of steps being taken to improve the climate.. She said that the interest in agriculture and increasing the green area is one of the things that the United Nations has paid attention to through its various conferences in light of global environmental degradation, the increase in pollution, desertification and the decline of green areas. She stated that the campaign is one of the efforts of the State of Kuwait in adhering to international agreements related to climate, especially the climate change agreement in Paris, which called for seriously addressing the obvious effects of climate change and limiting heat rise.. For his part, the Director of East Kuwait Operations at KOC, Omar Sadiq, said that the Abdaliya Reserve is located west of Kuwait in the Kabd area and even south of Kuwait, and it was started in 2011 in cooperation with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, where it was provided with wild plants..
